Audience Feedback

Powered by emaze
We made the decision to recieve a final set of feedback from the audience so that we are constantly engaging with our audience and fitting their needs and expectations of the genre. This helped us to make the final changes to our video and ancillary tasks to make sure that they were as strong as possible.

Poster Full Draft

photo poster idea 2_zpsh7y5rf7m.jpgThis is our final poster, we not only added more text to make it look more like a magazine poster, including adding reviews but we also slightly adjusted the positioning. We are overall happy with the poster however we think their is still room for improvement it is just currently we are unsure of how to adjust this. This is our current poster draft but the poster may change dependent on feedback and time restrictions.

Ancillary Task 1 Full Draft

This is the final draft of our digipak, we are overall, extremelly happy with the piece. We believe that it follows the whimsical and vintage feel that we were trying to create and the light focus' within the pieces highlight the artist and the people involved in the shot instantly drawing attention to our CD. We made the front cover simplistic so not to overcomplicate the audience and instantly attract the audience to the bold writing and focal artist. We made the decision to change the background for the inside page of our digipak as we believed that the previous background was too distracting and deflected away from the other images so we chose to use a calm and purple toned image which not only created a sense of calm but complimented and highlighted the other images used. We did not make any changes to the CD as we were happy with the finished result as it not only fit in with our other parts of the digipak but altogether had an athestically pleasing result. For the back cover we only made simple changes which included adjusting the colours and fonts of the text as well as slightly adjusting the colours. We are overall happy with the finished results of all of the digipak as they all fit and coincide with one another to achieve our theme and ultimetly successfully target our audience.

Digipak Inside CD and Holder Draft 1

This is what we intent our CD and the holder it will be placed into, to look like. We have decided to combine the younger version of the artist in the music video as well as herself to create a link to the debut single from the album, the song Alice which we made the music video for. We are overall happy with this piece and don't intend to make many changes to it. Some of our favourite aspects of the piece include the fact that the CD and Holder images seem as if they are meant to go together, which was our intention. We also like the light focus in the top corner of the holder as it is alligned with the CD so it looks as it if it is coming out of the CD which creates positive connotations, due to the light, that the CD is bright, cheery and overall something worth listening too.

Digipak Inside - Draft 1, Page 1

photo Inside of the digipak_zpslmic4kq3.jpgThis is the first draft of one of the pages which will be on the inside pages of our digipak. We decided to use a variety of behind the scenes shots from the video in a polaroid form. This contributes to the whimsical and almost vintage theme we are attempting to recreate. We are going to continue to make changes to this piece, we are considering changing the background of the page because as of current, it is slightly distracting.

Continuity

This is our presentation on the importance of continuity and how we will strive to achieve this within our own work. Continuity is key within our piece as it is the linking factors between the overall project that are key in targeting our audience successfully as they are able to relate between the different works and therefore resonate with the artist and her different pieces of work. This is to ensure that we establish a logical coherence between the shots and the different pieces to ensure a clear sense of narrative. Continuity is not only important across the pieces but in the individual works, specifically the music video, as the sense of narrative needs to be clear so that the audience are not left feeling disjointed and confused because the order of narrative is confused something which can be ensured through continuity, it being one of the most important factors of our work.

Poster and Digipak Draft 2

This is our second draft for both of our ancillary tasks. We have made subtle changes to both including making adjustments to the font and colour. We also made the executive decision to change our back cover as we believed that the second back cover that we had previously made infact worked better when combined with our front cover as there was a stronger sense of our whimsical theme created. There are still several improvements that we plan on making to our ancillary tasks including adding more text and adjusting the colours within the images slightly. photo poster idea 2_zps2yusdyzx.jpg photo Bethany Digi pack_zpscc7duok8.jpg

Audience Feedback on Digipak and Poster

We chose to receive feedback from our audience on the initial drafting of our ancillary tasks so we could see which elements our audience felt were successful and what they felt needed improvement because ultimately to achieve our purpose of advertisement, we need to appeal to our target audience to encourage them to see and engage with the content.

Draft 3 of Digipak

We have made different changes to our ancillary task, including changing the font and which picture we are using for the back cover. To improve upon this in our next draft, we intend to change the colour of the text as currently it is difficult to see because of the background due to the artists hair being so dark which makes it blend with the black writing, we intend to change it to something lighter such as pink or white.

We decided to briefly plan out what we intended our digipak to look like and explain why we made these choices. This was so we can have a clear plan going forward of what we want to achieve within our work. These plans may deviate slightly dependent on our experimentation going forward and what looks best when it is actually created.

How we edited our digipak photographs

Editing from SaraDevine
We made the decision to make a brief presentation explaining how we editied the images so that we can look back on it for reference on how we achieved the overall look of the images not only so we could recreate this if need be but also so that when we create our poster, we can use similar editing skills and techniques so that we can clearly make links between the two pieces and ensure a sense of continuity across our work.

Draft 2- Digipak

We have now, for the mean time, decided to use the first set of front and back covers as we believe that they not only strongely link to our video, by using images of our actors, but the shots are clear and conciese and follow the theme that we are trying to achieve which is quite girly and whimsical.

We added a photo filter onto the back covers that it would link more closely to this from cover to create continuity. This is because our audience feedback suggested that these two covers would go best together however they said that they would coincide with each other better if the colours used were similar.

Audience feedback on draft 1 of the digipak

Audience feedback on draft 1 from SaraDevine
We decided that because we were struggling to come to a conclusion on which digipak was most successful, that we would recieve feedback from our audience because ulitmetly they are who we are trying to please and appeal to. Overall we had a mixed response which was much like our own so this part was not so successful in coming to a conclusion but at least we knew that whatever piece we chose to go forward with it would appeal to our target audience. However the other elements of our feedback were successful, as it allowed us to see what they liked about the digipaks and how we could improve for next time to make the pieces stronger.

Digipak Draft 1 and Draft 2

These are the first drafts of our digipak. We made the decision to initially create two different drafts as we had two seperate ideas that we wanted to explore to discover which was more successful and followed our theme and created the atmosphere that we were trying to achieve. We have currently not decided which idea we are going to carry forward in terms of the front cover but currently, for the back cover, we are leaning towards the second back cover as we like the finished and overall feel of it specifcaly the filters used as they are a direct link to our video. We also like that the second back cover works well with whatever first cover we were to choose whereas the first back cover does not quite follow the same theme as our other pieces and we don't believe that currently it is a strong enough link to our other texts. We are going to continue to explore and experiment with the different ideas so that we can come to a conclusion in which piece will be most successful in the long run.

Photo Shoot Plan for Digipack

We decided to create a plan for our digipak so that we could have a clear idea of what direction we planned on it going and to ensure that we didn't stray away from our task and continued to ensure continuity across our pieces. Overall this forward planning is going to help us in the long run to create a stronger final piece which links to our other work.
