Poster - Final Draft

photo Poster_zpsxakrk3l7.jpgAfter receiving feedback on our old poster, we concluded that our poster was not as successful as it could have been so we changed the whole concept of our poster while still keep the picture and font to achieve continuity. We are much happier with this poster than our previous as it is clearer to see the writing and overall the outlook of the poster is more professional and fulfils the purpose of advertisement clearer than our last as it not only fits the conventions of a typical poster but is clear to read and the background is no longer a distraction. We were able to completely change our poster while still keeping the previous content of the poster. The poster also clearly displays our theme as the celotape is something which you would typically find in a vintage style piece as it creates a DIY type style. The text is now much bigger and bolder and instantly draws your attention fulfilling its purpose of advertisment, this purpose being further increased by the use of the contact information as it allows the audience to engaage with the poster and have the opportunity to respond to the content.
Overall this poster was much more of a success than our previous and we are both glad that even though these changes were last minute, they were made.

Audience Feedback

Powered by emaze
We made the decision to recieve a final set of feedback from the audience so that we are constantly engaging with our audience and fitting their needs and expectations of the genre. This helped us to make the final changes to our video and ancillary tasks to make sure that they were as strong as possible.

Continuity

This is our presentation on the importance of continuity and how we will strive to achieve this within our own work. Continuity is key within our piece as it is the linking factors between the overall project that are key in targeting our audience successfully as they are able to relate between the different works and therefore resonate with the artist and her different pieces of work. This is to ensure that we establish a logical coherence between the shots and the different pieces to ensure a clear sense of narrative. Continuity is not only important across the pieces but in the individual works, specifically the music video, as the sense of narrative needs to be clear so that the audience are not left feeling disjointed and confused because the order of narrative is confused something which can be ensured through continuity, it being one of the most important factors of our work.

Poster and Digipak Draft 2

This is our second draft for both of our ancillary tasks. We have made subtle changes to both including making adjustments to the font and colour. We also made the executive decision to change our back cover as we believed that the second back cover that we had previously made infact worked better when combined with our front cover as there was a stronger sense of our whimsical theme created. There are still several improvements that we plan on making to our ancillary tasks including adding more text and adjusting the colours within the images slightly. photo poster idea 2_zps2yusdyzx.jpg photo Bethany Digi pack_zpscc7duok8.jpg

Audience Feedback on Digipak and Poster

We chose to receive feedback from our audience on the initial drafting of our ancillary tasks so we could see which elements our audience felt were successful and what they felt needed improvement because ultimately to achieve our purpose of advertisement, we need to appeal to our target audience to encourage them to see and engage with the content.

How we edited our poster.

Poster editing from SaraDevine97
We decided to again display how we edited our work, this time for the poster. We used similar editing techniques so to ensure continuity across our work. This included using photo filters to create the whimsical, warm feel to the image which is also present within our digipak through using the same editing techniques. We also used the same font, for the same reasons as before and used curves like we did previously to ensure that the artist was highlighted and became the focal point of the image.

Poster - Draft 1

 photo poster idea 2_zpsqkaaycn1.jpg
This is the first draft of our poster, we have used one of the images from the location which is used within our video. We overall like the poster, specifically the hazy type filters which are similar to those used in the digipak as it not only creates the whimsical feel we were trying to achieve but also helps us to ensure continuity across our work. We are going to continue to experiment and change the text colour and positioning and possibly the font because at the minute it is not clear and the distracting background makes the text hard to read in the position it is currently in. There are however several different things that we like about the poster specifically the light focus within the image as it highlights the model making her the focal point of the image.

Contact Sheet for Magazine Poster

We decided to take a second lot of photos to use for our magazine poster so that we not only had a variety of different images to choose from but so we take take photos in one of the other settings that we used in the video which again helps to ensure continuity across our work.

Artist Analysis' of Magazine Posters

We decided that we would conduct an analysis into three different posters so that we could use different elements of them to enhance our work and draw influence and inspiration. Overall we believe that all three will benefit us in some way, however currently we are unsure of to what capacity.
